Here’s an early season update covering injuries and other roster news.

There is one new personnel development significant enough to flag for Alabama Crimson Tide.
Starting right guard Michael Carroll is listed as doubtful for Saturday’s SEC opener at Kentucky. Carroll is particularly important because he is Alabama’s only returning 2025 starter on the offensive line and played the season opener at right guard. Losing him would leave an already inexperienced line without its lone returning starter against Kentucky.
Alabama also lists RB AK Dear and DB Jireh Edwards as questionable, while transfer WR Noah Rogers remains out. Defensive lineman Jeremiah Beaman is out for the season with an ACL injury.
There is better news for Kentucky Wildcats: RB Jovantae Barnes, RT Malachi Wood, and CBs Terhyon Nichols and Hasaan Sykes have been cleared after missing the opener and are expected to be available against Alabama.
Impact: Carroll’s situation is the one I’d watch most closely. If he is ruled out, I’d downgrade Alabama’s offensive-line outlook somewhat for the Kentucky game, although I wouldn’t yet change our overall season projection based on this injury alone.
