That quarterback decision gives Mississippi State some needed stability entering opening week. Taylor does not need to carry the offense against ULM. The Bulldogs should be able to establish the run and allow him to work from favorable situations.
The depth chart also shows several intriguing offensive pieces, including Zion Ragins, San Francisco Magee and Anthony Evans III at receiver. Mississippi State should attempt to stretch ULM horizontally and vertically, using Lebby’s tempo to create mismatches.
Defensively, the Bulldogs must demonstrate improvement. Mississippi State went 5-8 last season, and defensive consistency remains crucial if the program is going to take another step forward.
