LSU bounced back from its loss at Ole Miss with a thoroughly convincing 35-6 victory over Texas A&M.

The Tigers outgained the Aggies 506-197, averaged 7.7 yards per play and never allowed Texas A&M into the end zone.
LSU quarterback Sam Leavitt was excellent, completing 17 of 23 passes for 312 yards and two touchdowns. His favorite target was Jackson Harris, who caught six passes for a staggering 163 yards and two scores. Winston Watkins Jr. added five receptions for 107 yards.
LSU led 14-3 at halftime before blowing the game open in the third quarter.
Leavitt connected with Harris for a 57-yard touchdown to make it 21-3. Landen Clark followed with touchdown runs of four and two yards as LSU scored 21 points in the quarter.
Texas A&M’s offense never found an answer. Marcel Reed completed only 10 of 26 passes for 106 yards and an interception. Rueben Owens II provided some production on the ground with 62 yards, but the Aggies finished with just 3.3 yards per play.
Texas A&M’s only points came from field goals of 24 and 53 yards.
LSU wasn’t flawless—Leavitt threw an interception—but the Tigers controlled virtually every other phase. They ran for 194 yards, threw for 312 and limited A&M to 91 rushing yards and 106 passing yards.
After a disappointing loss to Ole Miss the previous week, this was precisely the sort of response LSU wanted.
