South Alabama is capable of making the Wildcats uncomfortable, particularly with its running game. The Jaguars’ best approach is to shorten the game, maintain possession and prevent Kentucky from establishing an offensive rhythm.
Kentucky should have a considerable advantage along the line of scrimmage. If the Wildcats stop the run and force South Alabama into predictable passing situations, the visitors will have difficulty consistently moving the chains.
Offensively, Kentucky doesn’t need anything fancy. Establish the running game, protect the football and gradually wear down the Jaguars.
