A&M has already suffered important personnel losses entering the season, including Jerome Myles and Nelson McGuire leaving the program for personal reasons, while Chace Sims and Tiger Riden Jr. were lost for the season because of injuries. Those absences make developing defensive depth particularly important.
Against Missouri State, Texas A&M should control both lines of scrimmage. The Aggies possess SEC size throughout the roster and should be able to create a steady running game while applying consistent defensive pressure.
Missouri State’s biggest challenge will be avoiding negative plays. The Bears need short completions, quick decisions and enough rushing success to keep A&M from unleashing its pass rush. Long third downs will heavily favor the Aggies.
